United Recovery Services Group (URSG) was established in 2012 in the state of Missouri as a limited liability company (L.L.C.) through the collaboration of three companies: US Assets Recovery, L.L.C., located in Joplin, Missouri; Power Cleaning Specialists, Inc., based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and BDB Dismantling, Ltd., situated in Barnsley, United Kingdom. URSG combines over 80 years of collective experience in the nitric acid industry by leveraging a skilled workforce, advanced technologies, and comprehensive service capabilities for the recovery and refining of precious metals on a global scale. Additionally, URSG offers proprietary services to enhance the performance of absorption towers, intercoolers, and shell-side cooler condenser equipment. The companies under URSG employ more than 130 individuals worldwide.

URSG possesses extensive knowledge of the processes employed by every Nitric Acid Technology provider, including Chemico, DM Weatherly, Thyssen Krupp – Uhde, Grand Paroisse – Casale, Hercules, C.I. Girdler, Oschatz, as well as various designs from Eastern Europe and Asia. This expertise is crucial for optimizing our clients’ recoveries.

On-Site – Turnaround Services

URSG companies execute cleaning services to producer requirements.  We work closely with Turnaround schedulers to fix schedules to meet all requirements.  URSG companies are comprised of technicians and supervisors that all have clean down and turnaround experience. URSG leverages a work force, technology and experience all directed to successfully meet client timelines and delivering results that optimize precious metal recoveries and operating efficiency targets.

  • Lamont Boiler – Low/Dual Pressure Plant Cleaning

    • A process that utilizes air and water to clean and recover precious metals from Lamont boiler tubes, without employing phosphoric acid, which can compromise the metallurgy of the tubes.

Destructive Recovery

USAR is the leading provider of destructive cleaning and recovery services for end-of-life heat train equipment. From turbine gas heaters and expander gas heaters to grid components, waste heat boilers, and tail gas heaters, no other company in North America recovers more precious metals and scrap value than US Assets Recovery. Following the Destructive recovery, USAR refines the recovered PGM at the same USAR site to produce tradeable 99.95% pure Platinum, Palladium and Rhodium elements.

Non-Destructive Recovery

USAR conducts on-site and off-site non-destructive recovery of heat train components that are not at the end of their life cycle but contain precious metals that can be extracted. This process is often performed prior to sending a unit to a fabricator for repair or returning it to the client as a spare for future use. We collaborate closely with clients and fabricators to manage recoveries, optimize timing, transportation, and maximize precious metal recovery. Following the non-destructive recovery, USAR refines the recovered platinum group metals (PGM) at the same USAR site to produce tradeable 99.95% pure platinum, palladium, and rhodium.

Scrap Services

USAR delivers the value of scrap metal from end-of-life heat train components. Clean scrap metal is identified by material type and segregated. USAR works closely with micro-mills and scrap buyers to maximize the value of your high nickel alloys, stainless steel, zirconium, titanium and carbon steel scrap.  USAR also provides a boneyard clean-up service where we will come to your site to remove unwanted scrap items.
